Des Moines police say they are close to making an arrest in a weekend robbery thanks to a tip from the public.

According to police three men stole hundreds of dollars from a game machine at the Dawg House Sports Bar on Sunday night.

The bar’s surveillance camera caught the theft on tape. Two men block a third man from view while he uses a screw driver to break into the machine.
Police say the video is a big help finding the suspects, but the tip calls from the public have pushed the investigation along much faster.

“The calls we got gave us a name and a direction, which can lead to photographic line-ups, possibly interviews or interrogations and hopefully an arrest in the case,” Sergeant Halifax with the Des Moines Police Department said.

The suspects are described as 3 black males.

Two are believed to be about 5ft 8in tall and the third is roughly 6ft 1in.

Surveillance video also shows the men driving off in a green Ford Expedition, but the SUV did not have license plates.
