DES MOINES, Iowa — St. Patrick’s Day is over but the celebration in Des Moines is not, and that means some temporary headaches if you’re trying to get around downtown.

The city’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade was moved to Friday to accommodate the start of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

The parade begins Friday at noon. It runs from 15th and Mulberry, east to the downtown Marriott on Grand.

Several streets will be closed to accommodate the parade, but they will all reopen by 2:30 p.m.
