DES MOINES, Iowa — The summer is half-over, but Iowa Governor Terry Branstad wants travelers to know deals await them at vendors across the state before fall arrives.

Branstad announced 70 deals that are part of a “Back to School” promotional campaign with the Iowa Department of Tourism. “There’s a lot of good deals,” Branstad laughed while announcing the campaign Monday.

Among the offers:

  • A free piece of pie if you buy one in Fort Dodge
  • Five dollars off a go-kart race in Grimes
  • Two dollars off admission into Adventureland

“Still plenty of time to travel,” the governor said.

The promotion’s website lets you enter a participating Iowa city and see what deals are available there.
