A 17-year-old has died after being shot Sunday night at a rural home near Rudd.

The Associated Press reports the teen died Sunday night after he was taken to a hospital in Mason City for treatment.

Floyd County Sheriff Rick Lynch says two other teens were involved in the shooting, but no arrests have been made in the case. He wouldn’t name the 17-year-old boy and 19-year-old woman believed to be involved. The victim also wasn’t named.

The gun used in the shooting was a 22-caliber rifle.

Police are investigating if the shooting was intentional or accidental.
