Downtown Des Moines will be a busy place Saturday morning as crowds gather for the opening of a major summertime attraction.

Saturday is the first Downtown Farmers’ Market of the year. Fifty new vendors have been added this year. That brings the total number of sellers to 300.

New items include Iowa-made maple syrup, gourmet dog treats, and baby food. Click here to find a full listing of the market’s vendors.

The market is open from 7:00 a.m. to noon on Court Avenue just west of the Des Moines River.
