A WIND CHILL WARNING will be in effect for the entire state overnight tonight until noon on Tuesday. Wind chills are not expected to be above zero at any point during the warning, with actual temperatures remaining below zero as well beginning late Sunday.
Wind chills will be dangerous cold, with the worst coming overnight Sunday through Monday. Monday morning, wind chills will approach -35 to -40 in Des Moines, with -45 to -55 north of Highway 30. This will be the coldest air in the state since February of 1996.
Besides frigid cold, flurries and blowing snow will occur at times.
