POLK COUNTY, Iowa — A special traffic enforcement project means more officers will be on the roads Friday in Polk County.

The Central Iowa Traffic Safety Task Force, along with the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau, will be paying special attention to eastern Polk County Friday and Saturday.

Motorists will want to take extra care while driving as officers will be looking for impaired drivers but will be enforcing all traffic laws.

The CITSTF says one of its major goals is to decrease the number of vehicle crashes and injuries to motorists by removing dangerous drivers from the state’s roads.
