DES MOINES, Iowa – Sunday was the last day of the 2015 Iowa State Fair, and also the final chance to Cast Your Kernel at the WHO-HD Channel 13 News tent.

People at the Fair could choose their presidential candidate of choice by casting a kernel in their candidate’s jar.

One man from Eastern Iowa says he wants Trump to win because the Republican presidential candidate can relate to America’s problems.

“He’s doing what isn’t protocol, and nothing is getting done in this country,” said Jacob Harberts. “I think Donald Trump is the first person who is a regular American that brings something to the table.”

Trump finished with the most votes out of any presidential candidate.

Here are the top three finishers based on percentage in each political party.

Republicans:

  • Trump: 36 percent
  • Ben Carson: 19 percent
  • Carly Fiorina: 8 percent

Democrats:

  • Hillary Clinton: 57 percent
  • Bernie Sanders: 37 percent
  • Martin O’Malley: 4 percent
