DES MOINES, Iowa — A Des Moines church wants to help ease the pain of an entire Michigan town.

The City of Flint began tapping the Flint River for drinking water in 2014, with the move being intended to save money.

However, the river ate away at the lining of the water system’s pipes and that lack of lining led to dangerously high levels of lead.

The Revival Center Church of God in Christ located at 3816 36th St in Des Moines is trying to offer relief.

It’s accepting money and water donations all day Saturday, before volunteers drive the donations to Flint on March 4.
