DES MOINES, Iowa – There are less than three weeks until Christmas and  the Salvation Army is behind on its fundraising goals.

According to a press release, the Red Kettle Campaign has raised just 21 percent of the projected goal. The projected goal this holiday season is $2.5 million. As of Friday morning, they have collected over $260,000 in the Des Moines metro area.

Red kettle bell ringers will be out until Christmas Eve. The Salvation Army has met its fundraising goal, in the area, each of the last six years.

If you like to help you can donate at any of the red kettles or at the Salvation Army’s Website.
