It has been four days since they laid their daughter to rest, soon Heather and Drew Collins will meet with governor Branstad to discuss the death penalty.

Earlier this month, the Collins’ daughter, Elizabeth, and her cousin Lyric Cook, were found dead in a wooded area in Bremer County.

They will join together with the mother of Johnny Gosch to talk about introducing legislation in January.

Last week, Branstad said he supports the death penalty but a bill would unlikely pass in the statehouse.
