DAVENPORT, Iowa — The Davenport community held a vigil for the victims of the Nepal earthquake on Monday.

More than 100 people filled Davenport’s Vander Veer Park.

The Quad Cities Nepalese Society has already raised more than $15,000 to send overseas. The members have said the support has been overwhelming.

“Whenever we see somebody coming in and visiting us, we make a phone call and we pass that on to Nepal, to our brothers and sisters in Nepal,” said Quad Cities Nepalese Society member Rad Pandit. “It means a lot to us.”
