Iowa colleges are being called two of the top 10 college destinations in the country.

According to the American Institute for Economic Research, Ames – home to Iowa State University – is the second best college town in the nation.

The University of Iowa shouldn’t feel left out, Iowa City ranked fourth.

Both came under the category of college towns with less than 250,000 residents.

AIER looked at a variety of factors, including culture and entertainment, earning potential, student diversity, cost of living and more.

The latest approval comes after the University of Iowa, Iowa State and UNI were ranked in the top 100 in Kiplinger’s “best values in public colleges” in January.
