Authorities are releasing more information in a 2009 cold case murder in Sac City.

Last week officials arrested John Green in Clay County, Florida. Green admitted to killing Mark Koster while the pair lived together temporarily.

Tuesday, authorities revealed their investigation into Green spanned four states and used information from police departments across the country.

Officials say Green admitted to dragging Koster’s body to the basement, cleaning the home, and writing a note to make it seem like Koster had simply left town for a while.

During a 2012 remodel of the basement, Koster’s decomposed remains were found.

John Green was extradited from Florida to Sac County over the weekend. He is charged with first degree murder.
