COLD CASE: 1999 Murder Arrest Made

Minnesota police have made an arrest in a 14-year-old Iowa cold case.

Officials arrested 34-year-old Deshaun Phillips in Shakopee MN for the murder of 44-year-old Judith Weeks.

The mother of two was last seen on Sunday, April 5th 1999.

Her body was found in the backyard of a vacant apartment building in Cedar Rapids.

Officials say there wasn’t enough evidence to file charges at the time of the murder.

Investigators say they recently developed new information on the case, but aren’t being specific about the breakthrough.
