DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Donald Trump campaign held an event at the capitol in Des Moines Wednesday morning to launch its Iowa Women for Trump Coalition.

Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds and Speaker of the House Linda Upmeyer discussed Trump's childcare plan and other reasons why women should vote for the Republican nominee.

"Donald Trump's plan for childcare affordability will give struggling families a hand up and will provide countless Americans with the support and the opportunity they need to climb the economic ladder,” said Upmeyer.

The details of Trump’s childcare plan were unveiled Tuesday night. It includes six weeks of guaranteed paid maternity leave and creates incentives for employers to provide childcare in the workplace, among other benefits.
