DES MOINES, Iowa -- Metro drivers will want to be extra mindful if they're out and about Monday night.
State law enforcement agencies are kicking off their “Click It or Ticket” effort. The push is intended to get Iowans buckling up every time they get in the car.
Officers will be watching each night from now until early June. They're focused on the nighttime hours because they say passengers are less likely to buckle up after dark, causing a spike in deadly crashes.
Iowa law technically only requires you to buckle up in the front seat.
