Carlisle Fire Chief Scott Burger and one of his firefighters are resigning after Burger’s second alcohol related incident in the past few years.  Burger was a passenger in firefighter Roy Galindo’s car when the pair was pulled over Saturday night, March 24. Both were charged with open container violations and Galindo was also charged with operating while intoxicated.

“The two gentlemen have both tendered their resignations so we have resignations from both Chief Burger and Mr. Galindo.” said Mayor Ruth Randleman.

Burger was suspended for six months in 2010 after he responded to an emergency call drunk.  He refused to go on camera, but called this latest arrest “An unfortunate situation.”
