IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa is investigating claims that some students cheated on tests for their online classes.
The university issued a statement saying more than 30 of its students in its online classes may have had someone else take tests for them.
Leaders say they made the discovery after hiring a national test proctoring company to verify the identity of students in its online classes.
If a student engages in academic misconduct, the university says it will take appropriate action. That could include being suspended or expelled.
