PELLA, Iowa -- A G4S security officer at Central College and his girlfriend have been arrested in connection with the theft of several items from the school.

The Pella Police Department says Parker Bollhoefer, 20, and Lyndi Littrel, 18, are each charged with one count of first-degree theft.

The investigation began Aug. 10 after staff at Central College notified police about several items recently stolen from the school. Among the items taken were a wedding party sheet cake, merchandise from the college Spirit Store, and a large flat screen television.

Bollhoefer and Littrel were identified as suspects in the case and a search warrant served at their residence on W. 3rd Street turned up some of the stolen items. Police found the stolen television, a large amount of Central College fan gear, five stolen bicycles, and the "remnants of a sheet cake."

Police say the worth of the stolen items was in excess of $10,000, with $9,000 of the total being attributed to the retail value of the fan gear.

If convicted, each faces up to 10 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.

“We’d like to express our deep thanks to the Pella Police Department for its work on our behalf. Though we are disappointed by the circumstance, we are grateful to the Pella police officers for all their efforts," said Sunny Eighmy, Director of College Relations.
