The sale of the former Greyhound bus depot is opening up development opportunities along Keo Way.

Greyhound put the depot on the market earlier this month forcing Jefferson Lines, which leases the building, to find a new location.

The park-and-ride on Sixth Avenue is one area Jefferson is considering, but those talks are in the preliminary stages.

Meanwhile, the City is developing a plan for Keo Way.

Council woman, Chris Hensley says the south sustaining municipal improvement district might be expanded to include Keo Way.

“That would be, I think, a real positive because it would allow us to bring the operation downtown component up Keo and based upon some of the other improvements we`re talking about it just goes hand in hand,” said Hensley.

Hensley added that several developers are interested in the area.

The plans could be finalized by late summer.
