One Dead Following Tuesday Night Shooting on Beaver Ave

DES MOINES, Iowa  --  Des Moines police are investigating Des Moines' tenth homicide of 2017. It happened on Tuesday night.

Police responded to the shooting in the 2800 block of Beaver Avenue near First American Bank and Saints Pub around 9:30 p.m.

Details are currently limited, but according to police one person is dead and another is injured.  Both victims were taken to local hospitals. The one who died was shot in the chest and the victim expected to live was shot in the arm.

Sergeant Paul Parizek says detectives believe two vehicles met in the parking lot just north of Saints Pub and Patio but an argument escalated and shots were fired.  Police do not know what specifically caused the gunfire but they do know that it had no relation to Saints Pub and Patio.

Detectives are examining the area for shell casings and other evidence. There are currently no suspects in this case.
