The body of a man who drowned Saturday in the Cedar River in Cedar Rapids has been pulled from the water.

Cedar Rapids officials say the body was found at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday about 250 yards from where the man was last seen in the river.

The man had been trying to cross the river with a friend Saturday when he went under the water and didn’t resurface. Officials have not released his name, but say he was 28-years-old.
