The Floyd of Rosedale is back in its rightful place. The Hawkeyes are getting better, they’re still not a great team, but they’re better. I had no idea what to expect against Minnesota, but Iowa battered the Gophers up and down the field. It was nice to see Floyd being carried off by the black and gold.
Mark Weisman is a beast. After UNI I thought it was an aberration. After Central Michigan I thought, its Central Michigan. Now, I’m hooked. The guy runs extremely hard. He runs over people, not around them. The question is how was he the 5th string RB entering the season? Seriously? He is a prototypical Iowa RB, big, punishing, bruiser. Three words, FEED THE WEISMAN.
The Iowa passing game is getting better, but still has a long ways to go.
The Hawkeye O-line looks better and better every game.
Iowa State…Ugghhh. The Cyclones had a golden opportunity to get a huge win in the Big 12. I called it a must win, and it was disappointing. With the schedule they have they HAD to beat Texas Tech. This season is supposed to be about taking the next step, not sure that will happen now.
The atmosphere was great, fans were waiting for anything, ANYTHING to cheer for, but it just never happened on offense.
The ISU defense is legit. Tech came in averaging 50 points a game, and the ISU defense shut them down for most of the game. They had no help, and wore down in the end.
AJ Klein is big time. The INT return for a TD was awesome.
Where the heck was the Cyclone offense? 189 total yards? 7 points? That was as out of sync I’ve seen an offense in a long time. Play calling has to improve. Decisions have to be better.
Steele Jantz, not good. He had 3 yards passing at half. THREE! How is this even possible? I know Tech has a decent defense but you have to produce more than 3 yards in a half. 3 interceptions, 1 fumble, lots of missed WR’s. The offense needs a jolt, and fast.
Offensive line play HAS to improve. While Jantz was bad, the line was no help.
Jared Barnett should start against TCU. The two were neck and neck all through camp, he deserves a shot to try to jump-start the offense.
Ryder Cup = Complete disappointment. I love golf, and watching the US whittle away the Ryder Cup was hard to watch.
