Good Morning! Hope you are having a good week!

Rice Field
I’m glad to see the controversy over Rice Field in Beaverdale will end. I’m sure there are a lot of people who would love to see that green space stay open and for anyone’s use. I like the idea of having a place for Seniors to continue to live in Beaverdale. Imagine raising your kids there, living your whole life in Beaverdale and then having to move out because you can’t handle living in a big house anymore. You may still want to see the park, but I think it’s a legitimate use that is a benefit to the community.

Moving On
How Ready are Warren and Madison Counties to get past the Kent Sorenson debacle? The vote to replace the disgraced former lawmaker is today.

Get a Clue…Ehh?
Speaking of Political Train wrecks….Toronto’s Mayor Rob Ford did an interview with the Today Show’s Matt Lauer. When Matt asked what might happen if the Mayor went on a drinking binge and was inebriated as a terrorist attack or other emergency happened in Toronto? Ford tried to say…what happened to him could happen to anyone. He used Lauer as an example. What if you were bombed out of your mind and your child was killed in an accident? Lauer replied: I would take personal responsability…but millions of people aren’t depending on me to make decisions.
This guy doesn’t get why what he did is so wrong.
And by the way, I don’t care how drunk I am…I’m not going to do crack.

It’s the word of the year in the Webster’s Dictionary so expect a few of these on Facebook and Twitter today. For those of you who don’t know…these are self-taken, often unflattering pictures. Sometimes it’s when someone famous is behind you…or when you are somewhere remarkable and no one is there to take your picture.

It’s a Wonderful Life 2?
Two words: Bad Idea.

Golf Balls
Did you see thevideo of Chi-Chi Rodriguez on The Golf Channel’s “Big Break” What are the odds!? [protected-iframe id=”2dfa29d4e9da890ea07694fa46ccbe93-29519601-31419152″ info=”” width=”480″ height=”335″ frameborder=”0″ style=”border:0;padding:0;margin:0″ scrolling=”no”]”>

Let them Eat Cake
Heard in the Newsroom: (After a colleague brought in “better than sex” cake)…”I want better than cake sex!”

Christmas Cards
We finished our Christmas cards last night. I wondered if everyone goes through the effort we do to get a card ready and write a “Christmas Letter”? Our Card is done thanks to a well taken photo at the Apple Orchard this Fall. I came up with the concept for the letter and my editor wife wrote most of it. We picked a card online and I violla….Christmas Joy. So here are a few questions I’d like some answers to: Do you take a lot of time on the Christmas card? Do you feel Card Pressure if friends or family send them? Do you keep the cards that come to your house or just throw them away after reading them. And Finally, do you like the Update letter or do you prefer the simple, traditional, “Merry Christmas, from the Smith Family”?
