The Best Places to Live issue of Money Magazine hits store shelves this Friday.

It highlights small towns across the country with populations between 10,000 and 50,000 people and two metro towns made the list.

Waukee, with nearly 15,000 residents, placed number 22. It received high marks for employment opportunities.

Ankeny, with a population of nearly 47,000, is listed at number 37. It received high marks for home affordability.

Sharon, Massachusetts came in at number one. The magazine cites good jobs, great schools and a diverse population with a small town feels why the town took the top spot.
