This Saturday, Ankeny residents can put their love of barbeque to a good cause.

From 5-11 p.m. Saturday, the Five-O BBQ Classic will be held at the FFA Enrichment Center adjoining the Ankeny DMACC Campus.

Several former champions will return as well as new comers competing in seven categories.

All proceeds benefit Cops Against Cancer, a nonprofit founded by Shirley and Craig Phinney, following Craig’s diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer in 2009.

Since March 2012, Cops Against Cancer has assisted over 200 families across 45 of Iowa’s 99 counties.

In addition to all you can eat barbeque, the event will feature live music and beverages.

There will be seven celebrities judging the cook-off including Channel 13’s Aaron Brilbeck.
