ST. CHARLES, Iowa — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the man they say held up a St. Charles bank.

Deputies say 35-year-old Hussam Abusharkh of Urbandale robbed the Farmer’s and Merchant’s Bank Wednesday afternoon.

They say he pulled out a gun and demanded the teller fill a bag with money. He then ordered the employees into the bathroom.

Abusharkh is believed to be driving a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo with the possible Iowa license plate of “CZH 166” or “CRX 108”.

If you have any information about his whereabouts you’re asked to call your local law enforcement agency.

Abusharkh is being considered armed and dangerous.
