DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police say a woman got away with more than $500 of prescription painkillers from an east side pharmacy early Thursday morning.

Officers were called the Walgreens at 2545 East Euclid just before 3 a.m.

A pharmacist said a white woman wearing a blue hoodie and a bandana over her face showed a pistol in her waistband and asked for hydromorphone.

The employee gave the suspect four bottles of the drug, and the woman took off.

Investigators are looking at security video of the robbery.
