DES MOINES, IOWA — Iowa State Senate officials say there has been a positive COVID-19 test on the ‘Senate-side’ of the Iowa legislature.
Charlie Smithson, Secretary of the State Senate, said in an email Monday that an “individual associated with the Senate tested positive for COVID on March 29.” That person was last at the Capitol on Thursday morning.
The individual’s name has note been released.
This is the first positive case in the Iowa Senate. There have been six cases in the Iowa House since the start of the legislative session.
