One of the suspects accused of torturing and neglecting a dog in northeast Iowa has changed his plea in the case.

Tuesday, AJ Sellers withdrew his previous not guilty plea and entered a guilty plea to a charge of intentional animal neglect resulting in injury or death. He is scheduled to be sentenced November 12th.

The charges follow the neglect of a dog found dead in a crate in a ditch in Jesup last February. The dog was emaciated and covered in feces.

Two other suspects in the case, Kelsey Block and Ty Hickman, will have separate trials in November.

Hickman claims he left the dog with Sellers and Block in January until they could find a new home for it.
