Alleged Bank Robber Turns Himself In

MADISON COUNTY, Iowa — A man wanted for allegedly robbing a Madison County bank has turned himself in to authorities.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office says 35-year-old Hussam Abusharkh, of Urbandale, turned himself in Thursday night.

Abusharkh is accused of robbing the Farmer’s and Merchant’s Bank in St. Charles on March 25th. Witnesses say he pulled out a gun and demanded the teller fill a bag with money before forcing all the employees into a bathroom and leaving.

He is charged with one count of first degree robbery and is being held in the Madison County Jail on a bond of $100,000.
