The Des Moines airport is being ordered to pay a former employee $275,000.

Gary Hagan was fired in 2011 after allegedly leading a friend around security checkpoints to a boarding gate.

The former marketing coordinator sued for wrongful termination.

Monday, a judge ruled in his favor. Hagan, whom had been employed at the airport since 2001, will receive $100,000 in back wages as well as $175,000 in further compensation.

The Des Moines Register reports the judge says the airport failed to prove that Hagan had violated the airport’s rules.
