The Elkader Fast Stop station in northeast Iowa became the twelfth registered station in Iowa to sell E-15.

The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association said Iowan stations that sell the blend have had zero complaints about its use so far.  E-15’s continued adoption demonstrations that the E-10 blend wall is a myth, according to the Iowa RFA.

The Iowa RFA said 85 percent of U.S. fuel goes into vehicles made in or since 2001.  The Environmental Protection Agency said those same vehicles can use E-15 safely.

Ninety percent of all vehicles on the road, including most cars made between 2001 and 2003, are not approved by automakers to use E-15, according to AAA.

The EPA approved the first applications for registering ethanol for use in making E-15 back in April of 2012.
