Hundreds of people met in Des Moines Tuesday to talk agriculture during the 95th annual American Farm Bureau meeting.

The group discussed everything from improving farm operations to changes in the healthcare laws.

Attendees also focused on new ways to diversify farming.

“Of course Iowa is number one in corn and soy bean production, ethanol production, number two in wind production, number one in hogs but not many know about aronia berries,” says Iowa Farm Bureau president, Craig Hill.

“In fact we have a growing number of farmers growing aronia berries in Iowa, we may have the largest number of farmers growing aronia berries in America.

The group also discussed how the internet and social media sites can improve communication within the ag community.
