ALTOONA, Iowa — Adventureland Park’s newest ride is starting to come to life.
The amusement park announced its new ride “The Monster” last July, a 2,500 foot-long roller coaster with a 101-degree first drop and 10 “airtime” moments.
On Tuesday, park officials shared a first look of the ride on its Facebook.
“Just playing with some lighting concepts for The Monster – this will be a whole different ride from day to night. We can’t wait to open our new steel roller coaster this June!!”
The $9-million ride is the first roller coaster Adventureland has added since “The Outlaw” in 1993.
The “Log Ride,” which was with the amusement park since it opened in 1974, closed last season to make room for the new ride.
