The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says an Ames man accidentally shot himself Monday night at a Webster County shooting range.
The DNR says 33-year-old Chris Degan was unloading his 9mm handgun at the Brushy Creek shooting range just after 5:00 p.m. when the weapon discharged into his left hand. A friend took Degan to a Webster City hospital and he was transferred by air ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Officials say they don’t believe his injuries are life-threatening.
